ATLANTA BLACK PRIDE LAUNCHES PROJECT SILENT VOICE: LGBTQ+ Community Dialogs About Domestic Violence

ATLANTA — Atlanta Black Pride, Inc., (ABP) which just recently celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a festival over the Labor Day weekend, announced that its Fall programming will include a new focus on the connection between the LBTQ+ community and Domestic Violence.

Although ABP entered 2021 still fighting the challenges of COVID-19, it was also the launch of year-round programming using virtual technology to host a full schedule of virtual informational programming, Atlanta Black Pride’s The State of Black LGBTQ+ Conversation Series.

October introduces Project Silent Voice, which is an exploration of domestic violence within the LGBTQ+ community. ABP is partnered with Atlanta Pride Committee, Partnership Against Domestic Violence, SPANK Arts & Entertainment, Molding The Clay Podcast, and Affairs Of The Heart Podcast, and others.

“All podcasts will bring the community resources as well as stories from survivors of domestic violence and straightforward dialog about a difficult issue to discuss,” said Amber Moore, COO of Atlanta Black Pride, Inc.

Coming soon is a virtual round table discussion with a diverse Black LGBTQ+ panel to further examine ways to reduce domestic violence and help survivors. A primary goal of ABP is to promote healthy relationships, bring some resources provided by Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV), and change the narrative of being silent about this devastating issue.

ABP will create a PSA video about domestic violence with the partnership of SPANK Arts & Entertainment. Throughout the month there will be informational videos posted on the ABP website and social media platforms that will point the community to resources.
