ATLANTA BLACK PRIDE RECLAIMS ITS HERITAGE WITH NEW MARKETING CAMPAIGN
#ReclaimingATLBlackPride
ATLANTA, GEORGIA —- Atlanta Black Pride, established in 1996, launched “Reclaiming Atlanta Black Pride,” a campaign for 2019 that will be the foundation for the organization to meet its goals to educate, empower, and celebrate the black LBGT community. The theme Reclaiming Atlanta Black Pride is an effort to promote and protect the legacy of the work the organization has done in Atlanta and to strengthen the relationships built in the community with the City of Atlanta, local businesses, and other non-profits. The campaign includes a new logo, social media, and programming.
The original host to black pride events in Atlanta, In The Life Atlanta (ITLA), has appointed new Co-Chairs, Amber Moore and Terence Stewart, to lead the campaign and revitalize the programming.
As a key initiative of the campaign, Atlanta Black Pride will be resurrecting its Signature Events like the Interfaith Service, Opening Ceremony, the popular SpeakFire erotic poetry presentation, the Literary Cafe, Black Pride Film Festival, and the Concert in the Park. As well, in partnership with Real Bois Talk, Inc, Atlanta Black Pride will host the Second Annual LGBT Greeks in the Park event at Candler Park during the Labor Day weekend.
What/Why: The 22-year old Atlanta Black Pride organization is “reclaiming” its legacy and its ownership of its intellectual property – Atlanta Black Pride – that has been usurped, misrepresented and maligned over the past several years by various individuals and groups hoping to capitalize on the legacy of the organization.
When: The 2019 campaign, “Reclaiming Atlanta Black Pride,” launches Monday, February 18, 2019.
Where: Atlanta Black Pride is the organization and week-long event in Atlanta, Georgia for black and brown members of the LGBT community.
Who: Atlanta Black Pride events are hosted by In The Life Atlanta (ITLA).
