In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Today we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King was a man who dedicated his life to fighting for justice and equality for all people, regardless of race or religion. He is a symbol of hope and inspiration for people all around the world, and his teachings continue to resonate with us today.

This year, to observe MLK Day, Atlanta Black Pride encourages you to listen to TIME’s reimagined “I Have a Dream” speech, including portions of the speech read by activists and emphasizing the parallels of demonstrations today.

Let us also remember that voting rights were at the heart of the Civil Rights movement; we must continue our fight for the right to cast our ballots for the candidate that best represents us.

Thank you, Dr. King, for your courage and determination in advocating for human rights! We can only hope to follow in your footsteps and make the world a more just place for all.
